Cynthia arrived in Costa Rica about 26 years ago from San Francisco, California. She is passionate about her family (both her Pure Trek family and her immediate family), her friends, waterfall rappelling, rock climbing, yoga, her animals, and her community.

She is devoted to giving back to this beautiful country as much as she possibly can. She is grateful beyond words to these wonderful Costa Rican people that have taken her in as one of their own. She built Pure Trek in 2001 with the idea of transforming the extreme sport of canyoning/canyoneering (or waterfall rappelling as we call it), into a tour that could bring families, athletes, climbers, beginners, and people that just want to challenge themselves to a place that no one would normally ever have the chance to see: into a canyon in the middle of the rainforest right under the Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. She has realized her dream, with the help of team Pure Trek, and is committed to keeping her company on track with her vision for many years to come.
